Travel & Places

I know the official start of Summer is not until June 21st but a weekend in Rhode Island certainly makes it official for me! I had the pleasure of spending a few nights away with two of my amazing friends. We each live in a different state which means I don’t get to see them as much as I would like so our time together is extra special. We were in Bristol, Rhode Island celebrating alumni weekend at our college Roger Williams University. The weather was perfect, we had a lot of laughs and of course all sorts of silliness happened…it was just a really great weekend. I am honored and blessed to have such wonderful ladies in my life!

Rhode Island has so many charming towns like Newport, Watch Hill, Providence and Narragansett but if you get the opportunity to visit Bristol I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. This little town by the bay has plenty to offer.

Here is my top ten list of things to do in Bristol.

1. Visit Roger Williams University of course. 2. Take a bike ride on the East Bay Bike Path through Colt State Park. 3. Stop for a Del’s in Colt State Park. 4. Attend the 4th of July parade which is one of America’s oldest parades. 5. Visit Greenvale Vineyards.  This wine vineyard is actually not in Bristol but it’s worth the short drive. 6. Take a walk around the gardens at the Blithewold Mansion. 7. Have lunch outside by the water at Thames Waterside Bar & Grill. 8. Enjoy a few pints at Aidan’s Irish Pub. 9. Grab a coffee at Angelina’s on Hope Street, their lemon sorbet is very good too. 10. And last but not least do a little shopping at my favorite store Kate & Company. You can always find something special in this shop from clothing to jewelry and even a great hostess gift.
